Hi This is my cultural background this supports my cultures flags me and my family is Scottish and  My mum is Maori and my dad is Scottish im a true Maori i love being in kappa's at school theres nothing Scottish to do at school so we make Scottish tablet this is so so rich its not onething i could eat that much and yeah that is my cultural background.

so we had to pick a charity and tell you people on our blog what they do for use so i picked Air Rescue i picked this one because they work hard every day but so what they do is go on there helicopter and go rescue people that a somewhere like the injure themselves when they're  on a hike or on a bush walk anything and yeah thats it.

This morning we watched sky sports because Pt England School was on there playing netball they were talking about how much was the fees that they had to pay, so they can fix the cracks in the ground and how Precious signed up for umpiring netball she said how much she gets paid, she gets paid normally $15 or they will add $15 she helps her mum with the bills sometimes she likes to umpire the netball teams because she can help her mum and dad pay the bills.

David Attenborough documentary coastal seas

Today we watched the our planet documentary, narrated by David Attenborough, called coastal seas. Here are some interesting facts we learnt:





90 percent of marine creatures live in coastal waters. This is because the sea floor is in reach of sunlight


The documentary we watched was filmed in the everglades national park, in Florida USA.


The lush meadows of the park support the marine life.


The giant trevally and sting ray are extremely good hunters


stingrays hunt for their prey that hide in seagrass


There is a lot of food for the sea creatures, and for humans in the coastals waters


The bottlenose dolphin has a special way of hunting shoals of mullet they create a circle around the fish and flick up the mud witch makes the water muky - the mullet then get confused and jump up in the air, making it easy for the dolphins to catch the mullet.


Coral reefs make up less then 1% of all the marine species that live in the ocean


Coral are missing an important member of the community - sharks


Shark numbers have been dramatically reduced due to overfishing.


Overfishing has reduced the shark population by 90%.

My fun Monday afternoon!

On Monday the 15th of July me, my Aunty , her friends and their nieces and nephews went to the Point England reserve. I enjoyed making new friends. We walked the new path way, it was too long that we had to walk half way plus we didn't know where it was taking us. We then stopped at the wooden table and chairs and took some photos of us while the sun was shining. After taking photos we travelled to the take-away shop by the Point England shops to get some hot food, like hot chips and then we were talking to each other while the hot food was getting cooked. Then it was ready so we went to the tables and shared with each other. Me and my Aunty shared our hot food and we were talking. After we ate, we said our goodbyes and went to the car and we went home. It was so fun I had to write about it, I love hanging out with my aunties friends because one of them is my teacher and she is really nice and pretty I like having nice teachers, that's why I like Miss Tuia.

                     What I like about New Zealand is.

What I like about New Zealand is that I have a roof over my head and I have a bed and food that's better then any other countries. I love my family because they always protect me and themselves and they always help me when I'm stuck and heart there always help me, especially my Nana. When I was in hospital she stayed with me and my auntie and they would always get me food and stay with me at night and sleep on the bed next to me.

I will love to see the NSW team playing the State of Origin and see them win to QLD. Why I support NSW is because I love the color blue so I support NSW always, I never change my teams. Out of the NRL teams, my favorite team is dragons because they are the most coolest team I ever seen so far I think that they are going to come first in the NRL ladder. I wish they played all the time in New Zealand.

What else I like about New Zealand is that we have good resources in New Zealand and New Zealand is the only place I've been but I've been to Wellington last year. Then this year I might go Australia with my auntie and uncle and cousins.

Thats what I like about New Zealand.

VIctory royal

Today me and my friend Nature were playing a game called shadow battle royal on scratch and i got a victory royal on this game it was so fun because i was taking the L on Nature because she died when we were playing solos i was laughing because she died but then she got a victory royal and she took the L on me and she was laughing at me so i thought that it was a fun moment just then because me and her got a victory royal that was our day and make shore to go and check her blog out and that was our weekend.

If i could eat one thing it would be seafood but then i have to pick one of them to eat i would eat king crab with cheese sauce and my drink would be pepsi max i really love seafood my favorite one is king crab and why i like king crab is because i love the meat because it is tender i love it with lemon because it makes it juicy i really love seafood because i love it it has so much taste to it is lovely because it gets tender it is so dry without lemon because without the lemon i want eat it because it is dry and my second favorite is lobster it is so yummy because you can just cook it with seasoning then it is the bomb pepsi max is nice with it to i love pepsi max because it is like a dessert for me because it is so sweet i love pepsi max because so much taste it has so much sugar thow if it is expensive i by mount drew that is so fizzy sometimes i like drinks that a fizzy and foamy i like drinking the foam sometimes i don't like the foam and but when i don't eat the foam it just goes away but sometimes i give it to my sister or brother because they love it i do to so then i share it with them i love my brother and sister and i love king crab it the best because it is the best and

Sometimes we take a BBQ to have for lunch we have steak and sausages with onions and chicken wing and thighs with salads and coleslaw it was so yummy because i love steak with chicken and i really love the salads and coleslaw.and when we go to the pools we have home made food i love my Nanas chopsuey because i like how she cooks the meat in it and we take BBQ sometimes we make it at home and then take it with us we had steak and chicken wing and some salads i love having kuber and lettuce with mashed boiled eggs and tomatoes i like it on a bread because i don't really like tomatoes with itself because sometimes i can't swallow it but i dont no why tho.i really like swimming with my family like my brother and sister and my aunty and and my dad because we play games and how can stay underwater i really like that game and then we went to eat.

What I like to do with my family

year 5/6 camp

Last week we were on camp year 5-6 school camp it was so fun the week

before camp we got to know our group names my group name is Batay

we slept in tents this was my second time bing to year 5-6 camp.

Sleeping away from home it was fun because we did fun activities and

didn't fight and agou so then it was fun then on thursday we had heaps

of concert practise because we had a concert and we went first and owl

song was blame it on the boogie and when we woke up in the morning

there were music it was lion king.

I enjoined going kayaking because the first time i didn't want to do it but

then i went with my friend and she helped me padel and then i loved it when

we went to the pole in the sea and it had a green little triangle and then we

went back because it was time to swop around so then we waited we had

to wear life jackets so if we were fare we could swim back but then me and

my friend and so then we went far and so then we had to wait because

seed boats went past so then there were waves they were soft and we

swerved frew them but there were some hard one and some soft ones ruth

ones we almost tipped over and then we went back and toke the kayak

back because we were the last group so we dragged the kayak up the on to

the sand and lined them up and went back and got ready for the next activity.

I really liked going to pools of friday because i love going on the slide it is a

blue and long slide it's  but it was a stink day because it was raining day and

some people had blue lips because it was so cold but the water was  nice

and warmer than the air outside of the pool but it was so fun because there

was a bombing pool it was so fun because i bombed with my friends it is so

fun i did big as bombs it is so fun bombing and then we got change and

went back to school and then we waited for our parents to come and pick

us up and then my cousins mum came to pick us both up and then went

home.   

Thank all the teachers for making this opportunity for us going to camp

and doing fun activities and thank you for making delicious food i really

loved there nachos because i love mince and corn chips because they a

crunchy thank parents helps and the prefects for helping the teachers

putting up the tents thank you.

Thy will be better friends that thy a now so in the future they will be friends

for ever and they won't hurt each other and they carry on and make friends

with other people.

If we show respect to others like we get treated then the world could be better of showing respect it is important to show respect because other people can show respect to there family and my family and then they can show it to there friend then they could show it to there family and keep on carrying it on because it's important to show respect because then the world could be a better place to live because people show respect and then people can show it to there family and then there family can be better of showing respect.

kiwi sport writing

Pinky to pinky! Make a v!  Stand like a starfish and rock back and forth!  Have you ever heard these things before? These are things you will hear when you learn to play cricket.

Every Thursday afternoon Room 6  went to kiwisport on the field. Our coaches were Charlie, Jesse and Benjamin. They taught us how to play Cricket and skills like how to throw, bowl and catch the ball and how to bat.

First, we learnt how to throw and catch a cricket ball. Charlie told us that we need to aim with our hand where we want the ball to go. We have to keep our arm straight so that the cricket ball will go straight. Then we release the ball when it gets to our ear.  When we are catching the ball we put our pinky on top of the other pinky and then we make a cup with our hands and then catch the ball and then bring it in. When you bowl you have to stand like a starfish, then rock back and forward three times and then throw it when it gets to your ear.

When we bat we make a v with our hands and put it at the back of the bat but if you're left-handed you put your left hand on top, and your other hand at the bottom.  You hold the bat at your hip and then you hit ball and then you run to the other wicket at the other side. You keep on running till the ball hits your wicket.

Thank you KiwiSport coaches, Charlie, Jesse and Benjamin for taking your time to come and teach us.  Thank you Miss Va’afusuaga for making this happen. I had fun and learned some new things.

I would recommend this sport to others because then others can play this game.

If i had someone to invite to dinner i will invite my friends to dinner because i really enjoy hanging out with them so i invited them,  they a really talkative i love it when they talk to me because they really kind to me and i be kind back it is good to have good friends.

If I would go anywhere in the world I would go New York City because I love the word New York City. They have snow in the winter. I love snow but it is so cold, but it will be fun build snowmen with my family. It would take long to get there but I don't care because it is going to be fun. When we get there, the first thing we will do is play outside in the snow. I have to make sure I put warm clothes on. I love how New York sounds fun. I can play with my sister and aunty.
